Pilot Climate Tech Deployment: Support Governors Island’s Climate Piloting Program by integrating drone based scans with environmental innovation projects testing resilience and mitigation solutions
Waterfront & Utility Inspections: Map and assess the 2.2 mile waterfront, 43 acre park, and underground sewer/water systems to inform climate adaptation planning
Historic Preservation & Monitoring: Survey over 50+ historic buildings, including Fort Jay and Castle Williams, to detect structural issues early and support conservation efforts
Expanding and enhancing green areas by adding more plants, trees, and garden spaces, creating diverse natural habitats and improving aesthetic appeal.
Incorporating eco-friendly practices such as rainwater harvesting systems, native plants, and organic landscaping techniques.
Ensuring that park spaces are accessible for people of all ages and abilities, with features.
Creating more opportunities for outdoor activities, such as walking trails, sports fields, fitness zones, and picnic areas.
Integrating educational components such as signage, eco-friendly art installations, and interactive elements.
Improving park lighting, surveillance, and ensuring the overall safety of park users, especially during evening hours.
